Songs I Heard This Week (8/5/16)
Just thought I’d share a few songs I’ve been listening to repeatedly this week. Some are older and some are newer, but all are excellent if you happen to be looking for some new tunes!
This MuteMath song is simply a sonic treat for the ears. Lush electronic soundscapes and spacey vocals, but certainly not void of emotion. How often to we risk the things that really matter for more immediate rewards? A reminder to appreciate the ones we love and that no amount of success is worth losing that person who has stood by you through everything.
Ahhh the bliss that is The Ocean Blue…just a lovely song about recklessly dancing through the chaos of life. Still heart wrenching after all these years, but oh so lush.
I have been obsessed with the Strokes album, ‘Comedown Machine’, from day one, but this slice of heaven is my favorite track on the entire album.
Take a step back in time with White Lies, but actually this is a current band with a familiar synth sound of the 80s. That is, if you like that sort of thing…and I sure do!
This U2 cover definitely takes me back to a time right after high school. Young, wild, and in love, with the world at your feet. You can’t even begin to imagine what the world is truly like, you’re in the moment, just living.
