Songs I Heard This Week (1/6/17)
Basically anything Lindsey Buckingham does is gold, but I especially love this live performance of “Big Love” from the concert, “The Dance”. He is just mesmerizing to watch and I am thankful to have had the chance to see him play it live with as much intensity. He is just an insane performer, and not hard on the eyes either!
Speaking of mesmerizing, does anyone top Bryan Ferry in that category? Me thinks not! Here is one of his more sensual tracks from his most recent album, “Avonmore”. Sometimes you’re just “lost in the middle of the storm…”
I’ve been on a major Depeche Mode kick this week. It seem I have especially been listening to the albums “Ultra” and “Sounds Of The Universe”. This one in particular is speaking to me at the moment, though I could have chosen any number of amazing tracks. I can’t wait to hear their new album, “Spirit”, being released this Spring! Hopefully we’ll be able to catch them on tour again.
Erin Welton has one of the most angelic voices, in my opinion. This is just one example of the many blissful tracks by Autumn’s Grey Solace, but something about the guitar work here just struck a chord with my this week. Very sweet and dreamy…and a little sad.
“Pet Sounds” is one of the best albums of all-time, but this definitely ranks high as a favorite track from the album for me. I’ve always felt I was born out of time and didn’t relate much with my own generation. Not sure if I was ahead of my time or simply an old soul. I do know I wish more people could appreciate great music like this, but sadly it is lost on the current generation.
