Reflections: My Paradise

The concept for My Paradise came about one day when a romantic notion occurred to me that as much as star gazing on a clear night can be breathtaking, eye gazing can be alluring in a similar manner. It’s as if each person’s eyes contain their own unique universe that is a reflection of that individual’s soul. You can tell so much about someone by looking in their eyes; whether they are dark and brooding or bright and full of wonder. Eyes are what tell us if someone is happy, hurting or if they love us. And like the universe, it’s constantly changing. Perhaps even the universe itself is meant to be a reflection of the spirit of God as He reveals Himself through His ultimate creation. What a thought that is! It certainly has held a great fascination for mankind throughout history with its vast and mysterious nature.

When you consider the lengths people will go to plan an incredible vacation in the hopes of seeing something magnificent, we forget that a magical pair of eyes can transport you immediately to another world, all without having to travel or spend thousands of dollars. I think we miss how enchanting eyes truly are and get so busy with life that we forget to look up and gaze into the paradise that lies before us. In fact, the source of life behind those eyes will live on long after this world has passed. If we never tire of exploring this earthly realm, how much more will exploring a beautiful, eternal soul never grow old?
