Home Sweet Home
Today we took possession of this cute little lake home! One of the things we had at the top of our list when we moved back to Michigan is that we wanted to buy a home and settle down for a while, but this happened much quicker than either of us expected. We had been monitoring the real estate market for over a year, and with prices quickly rising due to the growing population in West Michigan, we knew we had to act fast when this home suddenly dropped in price. Seeing it in person won us over immediately, as it contained almost everything on our list of must-haves. Nothing else we looked at even came close, so I couldn’t have been more excited when our offer was accepted!
Closing went very fast. We were only there for about 40 min., but the owners didn’t go to closing until later in the day, so we finally got in around 1pm and spent most of the time cleaning. They left a bit of a mess, but nothing too awful. I am certainly excited to make it our own, but thankfully it won’t require any immediate expenses. Overall I can’t express enough how grateful I am for how smooth the process went. It wasn’t until we talked to our realtor today that we found out how much our prayers (and the prayers of others) had been answered. She said we were one of the smoothest sales she had seen in 7 years and that our loan officer was amazing compared to most she has dealt with. Just a confirmation that God put us in good hands and helped the process behind the scenes. I am still pinching myself that this is our home…I couldn’t have asked for a better Christmas gift!
