Christmas Time Is Here!
Well, as I established in my last post, the Christmas season has begun…and of course that means decorating! I’ve done quite a bit so far, but still have a ways to go. Before we moved to San Diego we got rid of most of our Christmas decorations, so it’s taken a while to re-accumulate stuff. I splurged on some new ornaments this year, which can be seen in the photos below. As you can see, my style of tree is very vintage 60s-inspired. Here are a couple pics of the tree with lights on and off.
One of the things I took with me is my Charlie Brown Christmas set, which I adore! I have a Great Pumpkin set I put up for Halloween too. I definitely consider it my favorite Christmas special of all-time. When we were first married Jess would put this on whenever I was feeling sad, and it always cheered me right up. In the same way, this set always makes me smile when I look at it.
This summer I scored this entire village set at a yard sale for $10, still brand new in the box! Although my original plan was to build a village that looked like a Mountain resort, this ‘Santa’s Village’ set is definitely the next best thing. Brings out the kid in me. The only thing missing is Mrs. Claus…go figure!
And here is my record player with one of my all-time favorite vintage Christmas albums, ‘White Christmas’ by the Mike Sammes Singers. I absolutely adore it! Here you can also see a small part of the tree I put up in our office, next to my record player that is mostly filled with sentimental ornaments, such as homemade ones and those we’ve picked up on vacation.
A while back we decided to purchase an ornament as our souvenir whenever we go on a trip. Unfortunately, we started this a bit late so there are lots I hope to go back and get or perhaps create from postcards. My favorite is this four leaf clover we got from Ireland last year. I still can’t believe it was that long ago…feels like yesterday!
Well, I guess that’s all for now. It was fun sharing some of my Holiday decor! Next time you can expect some news on upcoming releases and other projects.
Blessings,
Jakki Jelene
