Thanksgiving Weekend
Well, it’s that time of year again…my favorite time of year…the Christmas season! Unfortunately, it all goes by far too quickly. I want to take the time to enjoy every moment, but it can be difficult. I actually can’t get over that Thanksgiving is already over. It feels like Fall just began! We did have a wonderful Thanksgiving though. Jess and I hosted dinner for 10 and had a blast doing so. I am very particular about my Thanksgiving traditions, so I prefer to host anyway. This is definitely the biggest group we have had for the holiday in many years! Just last year it was 4 of us and the year before that, just us 2. Quite a jump!
We started out the morning as we do every year…eating hot, gooey cinnamon rolls and watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. We prepared a very large bird (which has provided left-overs for a week), stuffing, corn casserole, mashed red skin potatoes and a variety of desserts (including my famous Double Layer Pumpkin Pie). Just the typical Thanksgiving dinner.
As for Black Friday, we usually go out early, but with stores opening on Thursday night, we just didn’t get into the spirit of it. All we ended up with was a $4 hand mixer. However, I did a little Christmas shopping online and also picked up a couple 32GB Flash Drives for data backup. I guess we did alright, but my favorite part of the long weekend was going to Sea World again. They have really jazzed the place up this year, what with their Snow World and gorgeous light displays. It’s nice to have season passes for occasions such as this. We thought about going to Disneyland again this Christmas season, but since we went last year we decided to hold onto our tickets until after the New Year sometime. I guess that means we’ll focus on more local activities, which there are certainly plenty of. I hope all of you enjoy this glorious season to the fullest as well!
